What are Medicare Supplements / Medigap?
Medicare supplements, also known as Medigap, are standardized insurance plans sold by private
insurance companies designed to run alongside your Original Medicare (Parts A and B). They assist with
your out-of-pocket expenses such as copays, coinsurance, and deductibles. Medigap plan benefits are
standardized throughout the entire United States no matter which carrier is offering them.
What is Medicare Advantage?
Medicare Advantage are plans sold by private insurance companies designed to lower your out-of-
pocket expenses and can often offer enhancements to Original Medicare. Medicare Advantage plans
vary in benefits and price depending on where you live and what carrier is offering them.
CMS Guideline on Call Recording
CMS and the federal government released a new rule starting October 1 st , 2022 requiring anyone
marketing, selling, or servicing Medicare beneficiaries to record all calls in their entirety and store them
for a minimum of 10 years. This rule extends to virtual meetings as well. If you do not wish to be
recorded, please contact us to schedule an in-person meeting with one of our team members.
